Greetings!

We have the following hot fixes for you implemented during the 3/21/2009 downtime:
 

General Changes & Bug Fixes

  • The following crafting potions have been re-enabled:
    * Curator Tonic
    * Green Thumb Tonic
    * Reclaimer Tonic
  • An issue was fixed that caused many dungeon encounter AoE abilities to have much a larger radii than intended. The area of these abilities has been reduced and will provide players with an overall better gaming experience in dungeons. This fix only affects creature and object AoE abilities.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause sound and visual effects to drop out after playing for a long period of time.

Capital Cities

  • Altdorf: Fixed an issue that was causing some female NPCs to appear unclothed and without hair.

General

Archmage
  • Cleansing Light: Fixed an issue that was preventing this ability from working properly.

Choppa
  • Lotsa Choppin’: This ability will no longer ignore Line of Sight.
Disciple
  • Patch Wounds: Fixed an issue that was preventing this ability from working properly.
Rune Priest
  • Rune of Cleansing: Fixed an issue that was preventing this ability from working properly.
Shaman
  • Greener ‘n Cleaner: Fixed an issue that was preventing this ability from working properly.
Slayer
  • Flurry: This ability will no longer ignore Line of Sight.
Sorcerer
  • Infernal Gift: This Tactic will now provide the correct bonus to groupmates.
Warrior Priest
  • Purify: Fixed an issue that was preventing this ability from working properly.
Witch Elf
  • Enveloping Shadows: This Tactic will now correctly give players a damage absorb when leaving stealth.
Zealot
  • Glimpse of Chaos: Fixed an issue that was preventing this ability from working properly.

Content

  • Festering Maggots and Whitefire Parasite in Lost Vale no longer grant experience.

Realm vs. Realm

  • Fixed an issue that could sometimes cause Fortress and Keep Lords to display erratic behavior, abandoning their guards and fighting alone on the ground floor of the Keep or Fortress. Lords will now remain on the appropriate floor with their guards during the entire battle.
  • Destruction NPCs will no longer spawn in the Maw Fortress after the Lord has been defeated.
  • Fixed an issue that could, in rare cases, cause a Scenario with imbalanced sides not to shut down.

User Interface

  • Fixed an issue relating to guild permissions that was causing low-level guilds to not display the guild vault properly. The guild vault will now be available at guild rank 3, and will no longer be accessible prior to the reward being unlocked.
  • Guild taxes and tithes are now available at guild rank 4.

User Interface

  • Since we launched we have made a number of improvements to both UI responsiveness and casting lag. During our continued investigations into this issue, we found that we could improve both mouse targeting and UI-clicking, especially in situations that stress the game client, such as large open RvR battles. By making changes to the mouse selection and targeting systems, players will find clicking on UI elements to be more responsive, and mouse targeting will be more accurate. This is another step in what will continue to be a ongoing process by Mythic to improve these parts of the game:
    * Increased pixel allowance for mouse movement to be more forgivable when targeting.
    * Improvements to mouse clicking that will make the UI respond faster when clicking.
  • Fixed an issue where the F-keys were not properly targeting groupmates while in a warband.
  • Camera zoom will now retain its setting through death, zoning, and logout.

Capital Cities

  • Additional mount NPCs have been added near the Altdorf and The Inevitable City mount vendors. Now players can get a good look at the various types of mounts available for purchase.

Combat and Careers

Shadow Warrior
  • Keen Arrowheads: This Tactic will once again extend the duration of Takedown’s snare.

Content

  • Fixed an issue that was negatively affecting client performance in the Chaos Wastes.

Items

  • Rod of Service: The Apprenticeship ability now has a range of 100 feet, will only work on players that the user is grouped with and will work properly with the bolster buff gained from Scenarios and Open RvR.
  • Collar of Servitude: The Indenture ability now has a range of 100 feet, will only work on players that the user is grouped with and will work properly with the bolster buff gained from Scenarios and Open RvR.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing the Guild Hall Quartermasters to charge too much for their crafting items. These items have been adjusted in cost to a more reasonable level.

Quests and Public Quests

Quests
  • Death Poem of Farielle: Players using the Death Poem of Farielle while targeting monsters will no longer cause the monster to become untargetable.

Public Quests

  • Fixed an issue that was causing Easy Public Quest bosses to drop rare crafting items.

We have the following Hot Fixes implemented during today's downtime:
    

General Changes & Bug Fixes

  • The Bitter Rivals event has come to an end! Those who completed the Bitter Rivals event may now play as one of WAR's deadly new careers! Unsheathe your blades and unleash carnage as the Orc Choppa or the Dwarf Slayer a full week before your fellow players get a crack at them!
  • Fixed several issues which were affecting client stability.
  • Fixed an issue which was preventing players on servers with the Open RvR ruleset from using the Imperial Hunting Hound and Warlord’s Fell Hound Recruit-a-Friend rewards.

Capital Cities

  • Lycithas the Harridan Seer will no longer attack players until Stage 3 of the Monolith Public Quest in Contested The Inevitable City.

Combat and Careers

General

Tank Archetypes
  • Challenge: Fixed a tooltip error for this ability.

Archmage
  • Run Between Worlds: This tactic will now reduce the cooldown of the ability “Walk Between Worlds” by a percentage rather than a flat value.

Witch Elf
  • Broad Severing – Fixed a bug that prevented the ability “Sever Limb” from firing when this tactic was slotted.

Witch Hunter
  • Burn Away Lies: The damage done by the damage-over-time portion of this ability has been increased, while the finishing damage has been reduced.

Content

  • Fixed a terrain issue within The Lost Vale.

Items

  • Potions and thrown items: The following items will now require line of sight: Scorching, Scorching Blast and Sticky Bomb.
  • Battle Brew Backpack: This item will no longer ignore line of sight.
  • Nepenthean Tonic: The cooldown on this item has been increased to 15 minutes.

Quests and Public Quests

Quests
  • Players who abandoned the quests “Taking Flight” or “Getting off the Ground” will now be able to receive credit for acquiring the Schematics.

Realm vs. Realm

  • Fixed an issue that was causing the Goblin Artillery Range battlefield objective not to award renown upon being captured.
  • Fortress Guards will no longer drop loot unless the campaign has progressed to the Fortress they are guarding.

We have made some exciting improvements to the Recruit-a-Friend program to make it even easier to bring your friends and family into WAR! Read on for the full details!
  

Recruit-a-Friend Details

  • Existing players will receive a total of 6 recruitment tokens when they initiate their subscription.
  • Existing subscribers can recruit new or previously subscribed players. (Previously subscribed players must be gone from WAR for a minimum of 60 days in order to be eligible.)
  • Recruits will now be directed to the new 10-Day FREE Trial and can play on the server of their choice.
  • Existing players can earn both free game time and in-game item rewards (item rewards are retroactive to the start of the Recruit-a-Friend program in December).

Recruit-a-Friend Rewards

  • 1st recruit to subscriber = 30 days of free game time
  • 2nd recruit to subscriber = an additional 30 days of free game time + a Warlord's Fell Hound or Imperial Hunting Dog
  • 3rd recruit to subscriber = an additional 30 days of free game time
  • 4th recruit to subscriber = an additional 30 days of free game time + a Rod of Service or Collar of Servitude
  • 5th recruit to subscriber and beyond = an additional 30 days of free game time for each new recruit

We've been hard at work reading your feedback from 1.2 and in addition to today's update we've made the following Hot Fixes. Thanks and enjoy!

General Changes & Bug Fixes

  • Players will now only be able to have one pet of any type active at a time.

Capital Cities

  • Players will no longer be placed under the terrain when leaving the main door in the Contested Inevitable City.

Combat and Careers

Archetypes

Tanks
  • Taunt and Challenge: Fixed an issue that prevented these abilities from generating the Hate they should be.

Archmage
  • Walk between Worlds and Dissipating Hatred will no longer combine effects to fully ignore damage.

Swordmaster
  • With the extensive career changes in patch 1.2, all Swordmaster characters have been given a full re-spec. Please visit your Career and Renown trainers to set your abilities.

Content

  • Weapons of the Fallen will no longer drop from Doombeard Slayers or Red Fang Choppas until all tasks associated with the Bitter Rivals event are enabled.
  • The Bitter Rivals Live Event task “Soar 50 Leagues in the Twisting Tower Scenario” now properly gives full credit upon a single use instead of five uses.

Items

  • Armor of Mayhem: Fixed an issue with this item which was giving Swordmasters an incorrect three-piece set bonus.
  • Sentinel armor set shoulder pieces for the Bright Wizard will now drop in the City High Level Dungeons.
  • The Witch Hunter items Gale-Runner’s Shankboots and Gale-Runner's Coursegloves are no longer trading places.
  • The Engineer item Alrik’s LR has been restored to its former glory.
  • Nepentheon Tonic: This item can no longer be used to resurrect allies while the player is affected by the Terror debuff. In addition the cooldown for this item is 15 minutes.

Guild Crafting Merchant Price Adjustments

  • Fixed an issue where components sold by the Guild Crafting merchants had significantly reduced prices. These items will now have the appropriate increased price mentioned in the patch notes.

Guild Exclusive Potion Price Adjustments

  • Fixed an issue where the new guild exclusive potion components had an extremely low price. These items have been adjusted to bring them in line with their desirability. This includes the following items:
    * Alchemical, Terrestrial, Elemental, and Aggregate Compounds will now cost 1g
    * Energizing Compound will now cost 5g
    * Revivification Compound will now cost 15g

Quests and Public Quests

Quests
  • Taking Flight: This Bitter Rivals quest can no longer be shared. Each player must now complete the quest individually.Getting off the Ground: This Bitter Rivals quest can no longer be shared. Each player must now complete the quest individually.
  • Fixed an issue that was preventing players from completing the RvR quest chain "Stompin’ Stunties in Kadrin Valley".

Realm vs. Realm

  • The contribution settings for Keeps and Fortresses have been modified. The new values will help to ensure that any players who participate in the capture of a Keep or Fortress will be in on the loot roll. The new values will also help to ensure that there is greater variety between players/groups/warbands in the contribution values given based on the participation by that player/group/warband.
  • Cities will now degrade in rank when they have been pushed into a captured state. The number of ranks removed will be determined by how much damage the enemy does to the city. Realms who have their King captured will find that their city is reduced to Rank 1.
  • The restrictions on entering the fortress areas for players below level 37 will now be lifted when a corresponding city enters a contested state.
  • Rally Master Kazza has returned to his proper place in Muggar’s Choppaz Warcamp in The Badlands.
  • An issue was fixed that caused Keep Lords to spawn pets of the incorrect realm.
  • The Twisting Tower scenario has been adjusted to allow only 18 players per realm.

A couple of hot fixes was implemented a few days ago:

Free Transfers for Characters Rank 11 and Lower

  • We are pleased to announce that we are opening up the free transfers for Rank 11 or lower characters to all existing players with an active account. Previously these transfers were only available to players currently enjoying our free trial. Now, all players with an active account may reap the benefits of this free service.
  • For all players not currently participating in the free trial, unlimited transfers are now available for any character of rank 11 or lower. There is a maximum of one transfer allowed per day. Please also note that characters may only transfer to a server with a ruleset that is the same as the one they transferred from. This offer will be extended to all players who transition from the free trial to full-time subscribers.

Capital Cities

  • The Altdorf side entrance will now remain open when Altdorf becomes contested.

Items

  • Viraxil the Broken in the Sacellum will no longer drop Keeper armor set pieces for the Hammerer.
  • Goradian the Creator in the Altdorf Sewers will no longer drop Keeper armor set pieces for the Hammerer.
  • Keeper armor set boots and chest pieces for the Knight of the Blazing Sun will now drop in the capital city low level dungeons.
  • Keeper armor set boots and chest pieces for the Black Guard will now drop in the capital city low level dungeons.

Realm vs. Realm

  • The postern doors and guards at the Butcher's Pass Fortress will now reset correctly when the campaign resets.
  • The inner door in the Maw Fortress will now properly change to an attackable state when the Fortress is unlocked.
  • The guards at the Maw Fortress will now despawn when Ashleen Dreadweaver is slain.
  • Fixed an issue with the Blood of the Black Cairn scenario that was preventing Destruction from recapturing the Estate flag after it had been captured by Order.
